About ensembles

Hounslow Music Service runs a structured, progressive programme of bands, orchestras and ensembles for instrumentalists. Players must be having lessons either through Hounslow Music Service or privately, and acceptance to an ensemble will be dependent on a pupil having the necessary skills and level to join, as well as a place being available.

Players’ ages range from young primary school children to post A-level students, and rehearsals take place on weekday evenings during term time. They are a great way to make music and meet new friends.

Concerts are an important part of playing in an ensemble and all pupils are expected to perform as part of their learning. Pupils may also be offered the opportunity to take part in European concert tours in July (year 7+).

Ensemble membership costs £35 per term (£30 for siblings). Information about our ensembles and their suitability for your child is listed below. For any advice about joining an appropriate ensemble please contact us either by phone on 020 3325 3142 or e-mail: info@hounslowmusic.org.uk.

A grid showing the HMS Ensembles with information about standards and instruments can be viewed here.

Please complete an application form if you would like to be considered for a place in one of our ensembles.
