Saturday Music Academy & Music School

Saturday Music Academy was established in September 1984 to provide tuition for pupils who showed exceptional talent. At the time, the London Borough of Hounslow decided to subsidise a specialist local provision so pupils could access an appropriate gifted and talented programme within their own borough. Since 2009, we have broadened the SMS offer and included beginner lessons and lessons for those who are not on the Special Award.

Tuition is funded through parental contributions and continues to be subsidised through grant funding from the Department for Education, the Mayor of London's Fund for Young Musicians, Inspire Hounslow and the Marcus Fund.

Saturday Music Academy runs in the mornings and takes place at Hounslow Town Primary, School Road, Hounslow, TW3 1QU. Piano lessons on Saturday mornings happen next door at The Music Centre, 64A Pears Road, Hounslow, TW3 1SR.

Tuition is currently available on violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, guitar and piano.

In addition to the Saturday Music Academy, one-to-one tuition is also available on a weekday evening at our Music School which is based at The Music Centre, 64A Pears Road, Hounslow, TW3 1SR
