Choosing an Instrument
Helping your child to choose which instrument to learn can sometimes be a difficult choice to make. Things to consider:
Some children have definite ideas about what they would like to learn, other start to learn at the first opportunity that comes along.
Making the correct choice is very important as there are many different elements that will affect how successful a child will be on a particular instrument.
A child’s physical development will determine at what age they are best suited to start each particular instrument.
Shown below is a guide showing at what age we advise pupils begin learning individual instruments.
